How to get your WA Driver License

​Steps To Get A WA Driving Permit

A.  Pre-application -  www.Dol.wa.gov
      License Express
       Join Now 
      You can apply online at home or come here and use our computer for Free. Print the confirmation.

B.  Come to Driving 101 get a Permit Waiver - up to 10 days before Driver's Ed starts or take the Written 
     Knowledge Exam.

C.  Bring a WA State ID card or Certified Birth Certificate, SS Number, and your parent to the DOL.

Steps to get a Driving License

Driving 101 is an approved testing location to conduct licensing examinations.

First Come to Driving 101...
A.   Written Knowledge Exam - $40 Written Exam - No Appointment necessary for written exams
B.   Drive Exam (test results are good for one year)  - By Appointment only 
-$65 Drive Exam (Driver's Ed Car)
Free - Temporary Authorization to Operate a Vehicle contract

Note: If you are under 18 years old you must pass a Traffic Safety Course, have held your driving permit for 6 months, and be at least 16 years old before applying for a driver license.

Go to the DOL and get the Driver's License...

Department of Licensing Fees-

Instructional Permit -
      $25 Instructional Permit

Driver's License -
      $35 License Application Fee 
      +$54 Regular WA Driver License Fee or $78 Enhanced WA Driver License Fee

Note: Passing the knowledge and driving tests does not guarantee that an applicant will be issued a driver's license. The Department of Licensing will determine if an applicant has met all licensing requirements.
